Authentic engagement with the hallmark of quality practice - treat others as you would wish to be treated, if you were in their position
I own my own business that has a number of business streams including working directly with families as a Developmental Educator and as a Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner; I provide clinical and practice supervision to both Developmental Educator and Behaviour Support Practitioners and their organisations; and I provide training/conference and consultancy services. I am also involved in developing a number of App based solutions in the behaviour support space.
I volunteered for the Committee at the AGM in 2023. I am on the University Accreditation Committee and the Policy, Ethics and Risk Committee. I joined the Committee to support the growth of the DE Role and it’s specialised, ethical and professional standing across a dynamic and complex area of practice.
I hope to contribute effectively, but also to expands the relevance of the practice more broadly across Australia.
I have lived experience of raising a child with a physical disability and have worked alongside families Australia wide for 30 + years supporting their needs in many ways. Whilst disability and human rights are my passion, behaviour support is the area that naturally evolved professionally, as my knowledge and experience has grounded my professional practice.
