Associate Professor in Disability and Community Inclusion, in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Flinders University; Course Coordinator of the Bachelor of Disability and Developmental Education (BDDE); Research Lead for the South Australian Intellectual Disability Health Service (SAIDHS), SA Health.
Your DE work experience:
I began my career providing psychoeducation, community inclusion and counselling support to adults with acquired brain injury within community-based and private consultancy services. My research, teaching and professional involvement over the past 20 years have combined interests in epilepsy, disability, family/care-giver supports and access to healthcare.
Why you joined the Board:
I am deeply committed to the ongoing professionalisation and recognition of Developmental Educators across Australia. The DEA is at an exciting stage of development and I am motivated to ensure our progress and future goals for a sustainable and effective professional association are achieved.
